Md. Ayazuddin, son of former Indian cricket captain Mohd Azharuddin, who is being treated at Apollo Hospital here after meeting with a road accident last Sunday, continues to be critical, according to a medical bulletin released on Tuesday evening.

“Ayazuddin has remained unconscious and his neurological status (following hypoxia due to cardiac arrest prior to arrival at the hospital) continues to be a cause of grave concern. He is being continuously monitored by a multi-specialty team round the clock,” the bulletin said. “He had continuous bleeding from the injury to the left kidney and left nephrectomy was performed this morning.

“His vital parameters are being maintained with supports and he continues to be on the ventilator,” the release said.
