Minister for Endowments and Housing A. Indrakaran Reddy has directed officials to complete the works pertaining to Godavari Pushkaralu by May-end as there would be rains from June.

Reviewing the arrangements being made for the Godavari Pushkaralu at a meeting held here on Saturday, the Minister said proposals to construct another 16 bathing ghats in addition to the already planned ones were sent to the government. The officials of RTC explained to the Minister that 1,500 buses would be run to meet the pilgrim rush at the bathing ghats along Godavari river.

He directed the officials of the disaster response department to arrange rain-proof sheds and changing sheds at the bathing ghats for the benefit of pilgrims. He was informed that make-shift fire stations would be set up at nine places and professional swimmers kept ready at all the bathing ghats.
