In a move to strengthen the ongoing Haritha Haram programme, one of the flagship programmes of the State Government, District Collector P. Venkataram Reddy visited as many as 31 villages from morning to evening and examined as to how the saplings were being taken care of and whether watering was taking place at the required intervals. The Collector was unhappy with the functioning style of Gajulapally village secretary stating that watering should be done for saplings and dead saplings need to be replaced with new ones. He also expressed displeasure over improper maintenance of toilets in the village. By mid afternoon he completed visiting Dommata, Surampally, Mubarakpur, Timmakkapally, Mutyampet, Rayapol, Udayapur and Gollappally village.
