Disputed ownership: TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy and other senior Congress leaders visit the government land in Miyapur on Wednesday.

Terming the Miyapur ‘land scam’ as the biggest in the country, the Congress party has alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s family members were direct beneficiaries apart from some TRS party leaders.

Senior leaders of the Congress party who visited the Miyapur lands on Wednesday said the land scam was worth ₹15,000 crore and the Chief Minister was trying to dilute it like earlier issues that rocked the State including EAMCET leakage, Nayeem’s encounter and the Commercial Taxes scam.

“If Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao is sincere he should agree for a court-monitored CBI enquiry into Miyapur lands,” TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy demanded while speaking to the media along with senior leaders, K. Jana Reddy, Mohd. Shabbir Ali, V. Hanumantha Rao, P. Sudhakar Reddy, Mallu Ravi, Sabita Indra Reddy, Dasoju Shravan, Bikshapati Yadav, Vinod Reddy and others.

Governor’s intervention

Mr. Reddy said the party would also meet Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and seek his intervention for a CBI inquiry. He reminded that the Governor has special powers on Hyderabad under Section (8) of the Bifurcation Act and he is the custodian of the lands.

The TPCC chief also alleged that KCR’s family members were direct beneficiaries. He alleged four acres were registered in the name of KCR’s family members in Survey No 163 in Kukatpally while the role of Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali is also under question.

“Is it not true that Kukatpally MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao shifted to TRS after 10 acres of land was cleared. Similarly, Congress MLA Redya Naik also shifted to TRS after four acres were registered in the name of his daughter M. Kavita in Hafeezpet,” he asked and wanted the CM to respond on these issues.

Mr. Reddy also wanted to know in what capacity member of Parliament from Nizamabad K. Kavita was participating in Chief Minister’s review meeting on Miyapur lands. Why is it that Mr. K.T. Rama Rao has not visited the land site so far despite such a scam unearthed and he being the responsible Municipal Administration Minister, he asked.

Mr. Shabbir Ali asked the CM to reveal the report that gave clean chit to the lands or else explain on what basis he has arrived at the conclusion that Government has not lost anything due to the land scam. Mr. Hanumantha Rao said the party should take a delegation to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh to seek a CBI inquiry and also to expose the irregularities of the Government. Mr. Jana Reddy said the party would collectively go ahead in exposing the scam.
