CM wants greenery improved around Hyderabad

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has called for significant improvement in greenery around Hyderabad.

At an official meeting today, he instructed the Forest Department to take steps to rejuvenate the entire degraded forests and protect forest wealth. The department should submit a detailed plan of action to the government.

2 crore saplings

Mr. Rao also wanted two crore saplings planted in each during the rainy season. A district-wise social forestry action plan should be prepared outside reserve forests. The meeting, which was held at the Secretariat, was attended by Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna, Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma and Principal Secretaries S. Narsing Rao and Raymond Peter.
