CM makes statement in House on KBR Park firing

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao made a statement in the Assembly on the incident of firing involving a stranger and the Vice-president of Aurobindo Pharma, K. Nityananda Reddy at KBR Park here on Wednesday morning but none was injured.

The incident happened when Nityananda Reddy got into the car to drive home after his walk at the park when the assailant entered from the other door and demanded money by pointing AK 47 rifle at him. When the victim resisted there was a scuffle and the bullets went off the firearm into the air breaking the wind shield.

Meanwhile Prasad Reddy, victim’s brother went to his rescue and tried to catch the assailant but the latter bit his hand and escaped from the scene, leaving the rifle in the car.

The Chief Minister informed the House that the case was registered under Section 307, 363 IPC read with Sections 25&27 Arms Act at the Banjara Hills Police Station and the investigation was on.

He also said that the weapon AK 47 used in the incident was stolen from the Greyhounds on December 26 in 2013 and a case was registered at Narasingi Police Station under Section 408, 380 IPC on February 3, 2014.
