CLMC seeks KCR’s resignation

The Civil Liberties Monitoring Committee (CLMC) has asked Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to resign owning moral responsibility for the ‘assassination’ of 5 undertrial prisoners at Alair. It also demanded prosecution of the policemen who opened fire and handing over of the investigation to credible judicial authority. In a statement here on Monday, CLMC general secretary, Lateef Mohammed Khan, termed the encounter of the five prisoners as ‘target killing’ and political murder. The killing without proof of charge violated the Constitutional guarantee. The ‘State-sponsored assassination’ had created unrest among people, it said.
