Justice Ramesh Ranganathan of A.P. High Court on Tuesday admitted a writ petition challenging the action of police in giving a clean chit to Brother Anil Kumar, son-in-law of former Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, in a case pertaining to alleged distribution of money and appealing for votes in the name of religion before the 2009 elections at Karimnagar.

He said a case was registered and a charge-sheet filed showing Brother Anil Kumar as Accused No.1.

The police conducted further investigation and filed a second charge-sheet giving a clean chit to Anil Kumar. He complained that this was done without notice to him. He sought a direction for an enquiry by C.B.C.I.D. The Judge admitted the case ordered personal notice and posted the matter to November 19.
