The city is all set to play host to one of the country's biggest jewellery fair -- the Hyderabad Jewellery Fair -- conducted by United Business India (UBM) from June 18 to June 20.
In its third year of inception, the HJF will be exclusively a Business to Business (B2B) edition this year.
Unlike the previous years, where consumers too had access to the fair, this year's exhibition would be limited just to traders, retailers and wholesalers in the jewellery industry.
At a press conference in the city on Wednesday, Sanjeev Khaira, managing director, UBM said the three-day fair would have 200 stalls set up by companies from India, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, USA and Thailand.
Incidentally, the Andhra Pradesh Trade Promotional Corporation will be partnering with UBM to bring out this exhibition, Mr. Khair informed.
The HJF has also received support from 30 jewellery associations such as Gem and Jewellery Federation, Twin Cities Jewellery Association, AP Gold Silver Jewellery and Diamond Merchants Association among others.
The organisers are expecting millions of dollar worth deals being struck at the fair between the companies and retailers apart from providing stimulus to the trade, Mr.Khaira informed.
“This is a perfect trading platform which will give business opportunities to exhibitors and buyers from major cities and smaller districts in Andhra Pradesh,” he said.
The fair will provide a range of options for a buyer to select from and replenish their stock and will also give a taste of the latest trends in the industry, he said.
Vinay Pandey, General Manager, APTPC said the HJF would boost the promotion of a trade and added that it was a good initiative.
The three-day fair would be held at HICC. Entry fee to the fair is Rs.500 and it is open only to traders and retailers.
