New Year seems have to begun on a warm note in the city as the minimum temperature shot up to 21 degree Celsius on Wednesday recording a steady rise of nearly 7 degree Celsius during the last week.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 13 degree Celsius and maximum temperature at 29 degree Celsius on December 28. But in a week, there is a drastic change in the temperature as the minimum rose to 20.8 degree Celsius and maximum to 33 degree Celsius today.

After a chill in the air a fortnight back, Hyderabadis are now sensing sudden warmness. The minimum temperature has been steadily rising since last Friday. It rose to 16 degree Celsius on Saturday and climbed to 20 degree Celsius on Sunday. Since then, the minimum temperature has been hovering around 21 degrees Celsius, Met Department authorities said.

This is mainly because of the South Easterly winds blowing across the State from the sea. This aided in sudden rise of minimum temperature and gradually the gap between minimum and maximum temperatures starts to decline, they explained.

Authorities predict that the minimum temperature would continue to hover around 21 degree Celsius in the next few days. The forecast for Thursday is a minimum temperature of 21 degree Celsius and maximum temperature of 32 degree Celsius.
