G. Prithvi, a 17 year-old student hailing from the city, will represent Singapore in ‘The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair’ (IISEF) to be held at Phoenix, Arizona in USA from May 12 to 17.
His project on ‘High performance anodes for lithium ion batteries using cobalt compounds’ was one of the three projects selected for representing Singapore at the event.
Prithvi, an aspiring Particle Physicist who is currently studying in 12 class at St. Andrews Junior College, Singapore, also won the gold medal for the same project at Singapore Science and Technology Fair held recently.
A total of 289 projects competed at the event out of which three were selected for IISEF, a press release said on Monday. IISEF is an annual forum in which more than 1,500 students between classes 9 and 12 showcase their independent research projects and compete for total prize money of $3 million, the release said.
