Chit operator dupes 100 families of Rs. 2 crore

A chit operator, A. Ramesh, 45, allegedly duped nearly 100 families of over Rs. 2 crore in Chilukanagar of Uppal, police said on Tuesday. The accused, hailing from Warangal, suddenly disappeared along with his family members four days ago.

In another incident, a sexagenarian, Sarala Devi, was found murdered in her house at Sai Enclave in Trimulgherry on Tuesday. She was living alone after her husband’s death a few years ago. Her children live separately.
