The Telangana government has decided to allot space on the proposed bridge between Salarjung Museum up to State Central Library across the Musi River, for those hawkers to be displaced between Madina and Charminar, as part of the Charminar Pedestrianisation Project.

The decision, among many others, was taken during a visit to the project site on Thursday by the Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, along with legislators Akbaruddin Owaisi and Pasha Quadri, principal secretary Arvind Kumar, GHMC Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy, and project director Musharraf Ali.

It was also decided to explore the feasibility of constructing multi-level parking on the premises of Quli Qutubshah Urban Development Authority’s office, and to consult the French company for speedy submission of the Old City tramway design. Other decisions include junction development works around the monument, finalising the development models between Laad Bazaar and Pattherghatti, measures for newer structures to reflect historical importance, conservation and restoration of heritage buildings.
