Chain-snatchers strike at three places

Chain-snatchers struck at three places under Vanasthalipuram and L.B. Nagar police station limits and made away with gold chains weighing 19.5 tolas on Thursday.

A 32-year-old woman, Padma, was approached by two motorcycle borne miscreants seeking some information in Vijayasri Colony. Even as she was responding to them, they snatched her 4.5 tolas gold chain and escaped. In a similar incident, a motorcycle borne miscreant took away a gold chain weighing 10 tolas from a 46-year-old woman, Ravikumari, at Vaidehinagar in Vanasthalipuram.

In yet another incident, unidentified persons snatched five tolas gold chain from a 46-year-old woman, Bhavani, from Mansoorabad while she was returning home after visiting a temple in connection with Maha Shivaratri, according to police. Police said the same gang could be involved in the offences.
