Union Minister for Railways and Coal Piyush Goyal has assured government cooperation

Union Minister for Railways and Coal Piyush Goyal has assured the Centre’s cooperation to Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) in taking up new projects and expansion of its business towards the goal to achieve annual coal production of 100 million tonnes in the coming years.

As part of his visit to Hyderabad on Friday, Mr. Goyal held a review meeting on the performance of SCCL at Singareni Bhavan, the headquarters of the coal company. He was learnt have responded positively to the request of Chairman and Managing Director of SCCL N. Sridhar to allocate new coal blocks in Odisha and Chhattisgarh as part of its business expansion plans.

Mr. Sridhar made a power point presentation on the company’s performance and other activities. Special Chief Secretary (Energy) Ajay Misra, Coal Secretary Ashish Upadhyay, Directors of SCCL and others attended the meeting.
