Centre sanctions ₹3,615 cr. for 14 roads

Approval for total length of 570km in State

The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved ₹3,615 crore for the development of 14 roads with a total length of about 570 km in the State during the current financial year.

The roads approved for development include Jagtiyal-Rayapatnam, Rayapatnam-Jaipur, Kalaburagi-Yadgir-Krishna (Telangana component), Gundepad-Nirukulla, Sironcha-Atmakur, Jangaon-Duddeda, Khammam-Kuravai, Nizampet-Bidar (till Karnataka border), Kamareddy-Yellareddy-Pitlam, Hyderabad-Narsapur-Medak, Siddipet-Yelakaturthy, Basar-Bhainsa, Sircilla-Kamareddy and Zaheerabad-Bidar.

State sanction

Minister for Roads & Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao said at a review meeting held here on Saturday that the State Government had sanctioned ₹470 crore for improvement of Warangal-Khammam and Metpally-Jagtiyal roads, ₹30 crore for bypass road work, ₹249 crore for bridges and flyovers and ₹33 crore for detailed project reports.

Under the Central Roads Fund (CRF) programme, improvement of another 85 roads was cleared with ₹1,020 crore.
