Celebs cast their vote

A number of celebrities were seen donning the cap of responsible citizens and casting their vote in the GHMC elections. One of the first from the Tollywood fraternity to reach the polling station was actor-couple Nagarjuna and Amala. “It is very important to vote,” said Nagarjuna outside a polling station in Jubilee Hills flashing his inked finger. “Majority of the population consists of youth. Instead of just complaining, youngsters should come out to vote and elect the right leaders. I hope the polling percentage increases this time,” he said.

‘Proud moment’

NTR Jr who came to cast vote along with his wife, Lakshmi Pranati, said that it was a “proud moment” to be a part of the electoral process. “The nation has to flourish and Hyderabad is a part of this amazing nation. Hyderabad has a lot to offer. I appeal to people to come and cast their vote,” he said.

Popular actor and TDP MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna voted in the polling station in the BSNL office in Jubilee Hills. He said that there is more awareness among citizens now regarding the importance of elections as compared to previous times.

Movie Artists Association (MAA) president Rajendra Prasad requested the educated lot to vote for a better society.

Allu Arjun, Manchu Manoj and his sister Lakshmi Prasanna, Naresh and Kamal Kamaraju were the others from the film industry who voted in the early part of the day.
