Celebrations to echo across the State

World Telugu Conference -2017 to be organised in Hyderabad from December 15 will find its echo in several districts across the State.

There are several eminent writers, scholars and poets who hailed from villages of Telangana - Palkuriki Somana and Bammera Pothana from Warangal, Pampa from Bodhan, Vattikota Alwarswamy from Nalgonda, et al.

Special events would be organised in those villages and districts to create awareness among people about the rich contribution of these persons to the Telugu language and literature. The Cabinet sub-committee in a video conference with District Collectors said that the while the main venue would be in Hyderabad, the conference would not be confined to the capital city alone. “The Collectors were asked to take the message across to people in all the districts and rallies and human chains be organised to celebrate the memory of eminent personalities ,” said Tourism and Culture Principal Secretary B.Venkatesham.

The registered delegates would get priority seating in the main venue at Lal Bahadur Stadium but all were invited, he said.

Three Jnanpeeth award winners and Sahitya Akademi award winners were among the distinguished persons attending the conference, he said.

Telangana Sambaralu

World Telugu Conference-2017 has events lined up for the connoisseurs of Telugu language, literature and culture as well as those looking to a take a peek into the popular culture and cuisine of Telangana. The main venue at the Lal Bahadur Stadium will feature the inaugural, plenary sessions and valedictory of WTC and the periphery of the stadium will host ‘Telangana Sambaralu’.

The carnival like atmosphere will feature cultural programmes, handicrafts, food courts to regale the families visiting the venue on all the five days and provide a platform to showcase and sell various handicrafts and weaves of Telangana.

The popular film music, ‘Cine Sangeetha Vibhavari’ will be organised on December 18 and noted film music directors, playback singers will take part in the programme. Senior artistes, technicians will be felicitated on the occasion of World Telugu Conference.

A documentary on Telangana is being made by prominent film makers and directors headed by Dilraju and directors Vamsi Pydithalli, Nandini Reddy and Harish Shankar along with documentary maker D. Satyanarayana to capture the State in all its essence.
