Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali and Minister for Culture Ajmeera Chandulal paid rich tributes to Telangana poet and writer Dasaradhi Krishnamacharya on his 93rd birth anniversary, and called him a people’s littérateur.
Dasaradhi’s works have been an inspiration to the second phase of Telangana struggle which resulted in the formation of a separate State, Mr. Ali said, talking about the writer at a programme on Saturday. Speaker of the Telangana Legislative Assembly, S. Madhusudhana Chary, said Dasaradhi was a visionary, and complimented the Telangana government for officially celebrating his birth anniversary. Chairperson of Legislative Council K. Swami Goud too paid tributes to the writer. On the occasion, former Vice-Chancellor of Potti Sriramulu Telugu University N. Gopi was presented with a literary award instituted in the memory of the legendary writer.
