Sukuki Exnora, a city-based NGO working on environmental issues, launched the ‘Celebrate Holi with natural colours’ campaign here on Tuesday. Former Minister, D. Nagender, and , Amala Akkineni, founder, Blue Cross of Hyderabad, were among those present on the occasion.

A package of environment-friendly colours in blue, yellow, green, pink and orange, priced at Rs.100, will be available in outlets across the city.

“The pack contains 50 gm of each colour and will be provided to resident welfare associations. It will also be available in sweet shops, super markets and other outlets,” said Shiva Karan of Sukuki Exnora.

The technology for the eco-friendly colours has been sourced from Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University as part of the National Agricultural Innovation Project. “The colours have been made out of flowers and natural extracts and, apart from being easy on the skin, they will be easy to clean,” said Mr. Karan.
