CAT: Hyderabad student scores 99.99 percentile

Hyderabad students fared well in the CAT-2011 results that were out on Wednesday. As of now, the maximum score from the city was of B. Sekhar Anand who got 99.99 percentile. Last year, the highest was 99.96 percentile.

However, a Telugu student hailing from Nellore and presently studying in IIT Ropar, Punjab, scored 100 percentile and is one among the nine who secured that figure in the entire country. The CAT, held for admissions into the IIMs and other top business schools in the country, was conducted from October 20 to November 18 last year.

The CAT course director at TIME Hyderabad, K. Ramnath, said that those who figure in the top two per cent of the candidates may get a call from the IIMs. Aspirants who scored as low as 92 percentile stand a chance. Calls for interview and group discussion are based on the CAT scores as well as the work experience of the candidates. Each IIM has its own mode of judging the candidates.

CAT scores will also be accepted by the IITs from this year.
