The Banjara Hills police on Thursday registered a criminal case against actor couple - Rajasekhar and Jeevitha - following direction from a local court in connection with a petition filed by a film producer.

The petitioner, Y. Surender Reddy, was producing a film titled, Mahankali , with Rajasekhar in the lead role. Jeevitha was director of the film. Differences arose between them with the producer alleging that delay by the director escalated cost of the film, the Banjara Hills ACP, E. Shankar Reddy, said.

Reddy maintained that later he entered into an agreement with Ms. Jeevitha who agreed to finance the film. “Reddy charged that Ms. Jeevitha sold rights of the film to Multi Dimension Entertainment company in violation of the agreement and moved a local court seeking registration of criminal case in this regard,” the ACP said.

Cases

A case under Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating) and 426 (mischief) read with 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against Rajasekhar, Jeevitha and Multi Dimension Entertainment company as directed by the court, according to the ACP.
