Case against Zee News

The Dabeerpura police registered a case against Zee News channel for the hurting religious sentiments of Muslim community by reportedly telecasting cartoons published by the French magazine Charlie Hebdo last week.

Majlis Bachao Tehreek president Dr. Khayam Khan made a complaint to the police in this regard. The police invoked Section 295 A of Indian Penal Code and Section 66A if Information Technology Act against the channel management.

ID liquor seized

A team of Charminar Prohibition and Excise Station personnel on Monday raided an illicitly distilled liquor sale point at Nawab Sahab Kunta in Falaknuma and seized 620 litres of gudamba from the place. A man Amjad who was selling the ID liquor was caught at the place.

Bomb hoax call

Bomb disposal units were rushed to Chevella police station in adjoining Ranga Reddy district on Monday evening following an unanimous bomb threat call. The police later declared it a hoax following thorough examination of the police station premises. The Ranga Reddy district police control room received an anonymous call stating that a bomb has been planted in the police station. Senior police officials also visited the police station and supervised the anti-sabotage operation.
