Neeraj Kumar Sampathy, executive president of Andhra Carrom Association, announced a cash award of Rs. 20,000 to K. Srinivas on winning the senior national men’s singles carrom championship in Akola last week. This was announced by B. K. Haranath, president of Hyderabad Carrom Association, at a felicitation function put up in honour of Srinivas, who at 20 also become the youngest men’s national champion. Dr. Neeraj is away in Vizag and could not make it to the function today. Six-time national women’s champion P. Nirmala presented a memento to Srinivas.
