‘A picture speaks a thousand words’, they say but a photo exhibition captures an entire culture.
The photo exhibition of Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU) displayed the myriad forms of nature, architecture and Hyderabad culture.
Exhibits Hyderabad's culture
Captured through the lenses of students of the Photography Department, the exhibits reveal the majestic nature in its unspoiled form, splendid architecture and the lively lifestyle of Hyderabad.
Insects and animals seemed the favourites among the shooters.
Prizes
First prize winner in the ‘Nature’ segment - Ch. Suresh Kumar - captured a fly, akin to the one making waves in the Telugu movie ‘Eega’.
In the ‘Architecture’ segment Avinash Kumar Kale captured a fort in Delhi using natural lights to a magnificent effect to take the first prize.
In the ‘Hyderabad Culture’ segment G. Satyanarayana’s picture of ‘Bonalu’ showcased the mix of colour and merriment of the festival to take the first prize.
The second prize in the same segment went to an Iranian girl who shot a picture of an old man engrossed in an Urdu newspaper. It reflected the strong culture of old city in a simple form.
