Cantonment roads: verdict reserved

Interim orders will be in force till the judgment is pronounced

Justice P. Naveen Rao of the AP High Court on Thursday reserved orders in a batch of writ petitions filed challenging the action of the officers of Army in closing major roads in cantonment for civilian traffic.

It may be recalled that the army officers declared that the roads will be closed for civilian traffic from March 1 due to safety reasons.

Several cases were filed and the judge had directed the officers from local police, GHMC , revenue departments to have a meeting . The report was submitted and the judge said that the judgment will be delivered soon.

The interim orders of staying the operation of the orders of army officers will be in force till the judgment is pronounced.
