Call all-party meeting, says Shabbir

Leader of Opposition in the Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir urged the State government to summon an all-party meeting to suggest amendments to the Central LARR Act 2013 in the backdrop of the Union Government rejecting the Act endorsed by State legislatures recently.

Using their numbers, the TRS Government got the Bill passed only to be returned. Similarly, the government was exposed in the Singareni Employment on compassionate grounds and regularisation of out-sourcing and contract employees. It showed the inexperience of the government in administrative affairs, he said at a press conference here on Thursday.

He said the credit should go to the Congress government for giving a fine shape to the LARR Act in 2013 which the Modi government had failed to implement for the benefit of the farming community. Even the hasty passage of the Muslim quota and tribal quota bills needed more careful wording and drafting if they had to pass the scrutiny of the courts but the Government was keen more on political mileage than actual benefit to these sections.
