Businessman booked for power theft

APCPDCL’s Vigilance and Anti Power Theft Squad (APTS) have registered a criminal case against a businessman from Jawaharnagar on charges of theft of energy, here on Monday.

The accused, Chamarthi Venkat Ratnam from Arundhati Nagar in Ranga Reddy district, was caught tapping energy before it was meteredon September 28, 2012. A case was registered and the offence compounded after payment of Rs.7,000 as per law. He was apprehended again on February 28, 2014, meddling with the meter.
