Dacoits struck at Doyen’s colony in Chandanagar police station area in the early hours of Monday, taking away 150 gram of gold jewellery and a Maruti Estillo car of the house owner.
This is the second dacaoity in Cyberabad commissionerate area in the past one week. Last Monday, dacoits took away gold ornaments and cash from a house in Rukmini Enclave near Matcha Bollarum. Going by the modus operandi and Hindi with a North Indian accent that the offenders spoke, investigators feel that the same gang must have committed both the offences.
In the fresh case, seven persons, wearing masks, entered the house of a private industrial training institute owner, Kasper, in Doyen colony — a gated community venture started 20 years ago — around 2.30 a.m. by breaking open the latch of the rear door.
They first barged into the bedroom of Mr Kasper and his wife, Shouramma. Later, the gang woke up their two daughters living in the next room. After tying all their hands and confining them to a room, the dacoits collected gold jewellery and silver articles ransacking the entire house.
While fleeing, the gang also collected the key of Mr Kasper’s car and drove it away, the Madhapur ACP, K Goverdhan Reddy, said. The private security guards of the colony were patrolling the area when the dacoits were inside the house. “Don’t try to alert anyone if you want to be alive,” the dacoits threatened the family with knives, even as the guards moved past the house while patrolling.
