The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Adilabad Telecom district has successfully completed installation of mobile phone towers in extremism-affected areas.
The telecom giant had been mandated to set up 25 base stations in far flung areas in erstwhile undivided Adilabad district which it did successfully, according to General Manager S. Nagi Reddy.
The BSNL officials addressed a press conference here on Tuesday in connection with completion of 17 years of its working as a Corporation.
The GM said that 89 exchanges were operational in the Telecom district serving 11,500 land line connections and 4,855 Boradband connections.
Talking about cell services, Mr. Nagi Reddy said that 276 towers were operational in the district of which 93 were 3G.
The BSNL had a customer base of 3.5 lakh in mobile sector, he added.
