Broadridge Financial Solutions (India), as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, has adopted all the aviaries at the Nehru Zoological Park here on Sunday.
Under the adoption scheme offered by the zoo, the company managing director, V. Laxmikanth, handed over the cheque to the State Zoos Director Mallikarjuna Rao and said the amount would go for the feed, maintenance and upkeep of the birds that include flamingo, parrot, parakeet and stork, for a year.
The occasion also had Broadridge associates along with family members being taken for a guided tour of the zoo and take part in a spot photography contest.
Commending the zoo’s efforts at caring thousands of animals and birds, Mr. Laxmikanth said, “We truly believe that birds deserve the same efforts to promote public education, protective legislation, sheltering and care as any wild animal.”
Appreciating the Broadridge India initiative, Mr. Mallikarjuna Rao said “such corporate partnerships help us in providing the best care for the flora and fauna spread across 380 acres at the zoo.”
