While engineers are working on the problem, alternative arrangements are being made for the passengers
A British Airways aircraft on its way to London from Hyderabad had to abort its take off and return to the stands due to a technical problem with one of its engines here on Tuesday morning.
There were 176 passengers on the flight BA 276 whose scheduled departure was at 6.50 a.m.
A press release by British Airways informed that the Boeing 767 experienced a high speed aborted take-off after the right engine did not generate enough power to take off. The captain had to abort the take-off, a normal procedure in such a situation.
British Airways said some of the passengers were accommodated on the available alternate flights and the others were being accommodated in hotels. The airline expressed regret and maintained that the British Airways pilots were trained to deal with such eventualities and the procedure was carried out in a controlled and safe manner.
The engineers were working to resolve the problem, the press release said.
