Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday formally released a book ‘Sach A 100 – Finest moments of the Greatest Cricketer’ on batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar and penned by veteran sports journalist C. Venkatesh, at Secretariat here on Wednesday.

Role model

“Sachin is a great cricketer. His passion and dedication stood out from the rest. He brought a new outlook to the game. He enhanced the game’s following by bringing it closer to the common man. He is a role model as how a sportsperson should be irrespective of his achievements. He always kept the country ahead of his personal achievements,” the Chief Minister said. Former Indian cricketer V.V.S. Laxman, in his foreword, shared his experiences with Sachin Tendulkar whom he considers a phenomenon. He wrote that the book carries cherished moments and many nuggets about Sachin’s long and illustrious career.
