A farmer’s wife Anitha, 25, and her son Venu, 7, who were missing for past the four days, were found dead in a drinking water well in Peerampally village of Vikarabad in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district on Monday.

The woman left her house along with her son four days ago and was not seen since then. Her husband Ashok lodged a complaint with the Vikarabad police who registered a case of missing persons.

Villagers saw the decomposed bodies floating in the well in the morning and alerted the police. “It is suspected the woman jumped into the well carrying her son reportedly due to harassment by her husband,” the Vikarabad Inspector V. Lachiram said.
