Bob is the man Prohibition and Excise (P&E) officials want in the sensational narcotic drug racket they busted recently.

Also known as Mountain in the circles of narcotic drug peddlers and users, he has emerged key operative in the entire network of agents. In a bid to track him, special teams of the P&E have fanned out to different parts of the country.

Investigators have inputs that he was taking shelter in a north-Indian State and repeatedly changing hideout. “We’re hopeful of getting him. It is a matter of time,” an investigator said on Tuesday. The authorities are not sure about his original name.

Bob or Mountain had introduced the seven drug peddlers arrested by the officials so far. Md. Abdul Quddos, his brother Waheb and another person, Calvin, were arrested on Monday.

A computer science engineer-turned-Yoga instructor Nikhil Shetty, holder of engineering and management degrees Ravi Kiran, a car rental agency employee Kundan and an IT company employee Aman Naidu were arrested on Tuesday. Among the quartet, Nikhil Shetty was the key person.

“Messages and communication circulated among drug users referred to him as Nick, Nikitha. Initially, we thought the person was a woman,” an investigator said. All these seven accused were introduced to Dark Web by the absconding Bob or Mountain.

Only Quddos and Waheb maintained that they got the LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide) drug dots personally delivered through a friend who had flown from Chicago of US into India a few months ago.

But investigators believe the two siblings too secured the narcotic drug through Dark Web only. Arrest of more persons is on the cards. Special teams of P&E department had identified hideouts of the persons who were physically delivering the drugs to the clients.

Four of them were picked up late on Tuesday night.
