BJP’s minority wing slams MANUU V-C

January 18, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:13 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The State president of BJP’s Minority Morcha, Haneef Ali, has criticised authorities of the Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) for issuing an employment notification at a time when the term of its Vice-Chancellor Mohd. Miyan would come to an end in four months.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Mr. Ali said it was immoral and illegal as the notification appeared in newspapers not well-circulated in the South.

Besides, the time period for applying for the jobs was also very short – the notification was issued on January 14 and the last date was January 27.

The hurriedly issued notification was ample proof of mass irregularities in appointments in MANUU, Mr. Ali said, alleging that the purpose of the notification was to award key positions in the university to persons of the V-C’s choice.

The BJP leader demanded that the Union Human Resource Development Ministry order a CBI probe into appointments made earlier in the university and stop the fresh ill-motivated employment notification.
