Intemperate language that could cause provocation within society should be avoided by all, Anti-Terrorist Front Chairman M.S. Bitta said on Friday.
Speaking to the media after visiting Dilsukhnagar, which was rocked by bomb blasts last week, Mr. Bitta said offensive and provocative speeches from any quarter would only vitiate atmosphere and weaken the battle against terror.
Care for affected
He said the government should take care of those affected in such attacks, instead of limiting their responsibility to the announcement of ex gratia payments. “Let there be a reserved quota for employment and seats in universities for them,” he advocated.
Fast-track courts
Mr. Bitta suggested anti-terrorist military courts to fast-track cases of terror.
“Our intelligence gathering apparatus is well-equipped, but the inputs have to be used effectively,” he said.
Wholesome security
Safety and security aspects need to be incorporated in big malls, universities, hotels and places that draw people in good numbers. “In fact, the permission and approvals for setting them up should be issued only after security issues are addressed,” he said. Instead of just going in for costly equipment, affordable ways such as deploying sniffer dogs should be taken up.
Mr. Bitta also exhorted MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi to avoid speeches that could damage the secular fabric of the country and end up creating communal divide.
