Bill Gates, co-chairman of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, visited Biological E Ltd here on Friday and held discussion with the functionaries of the company on the supply of vaccines to the foundation.

During his visit to the pharmaceutical company, Mr. Gates complimented the efforts of Biological E on the science and innovation platform of the company that allows it to supply effective and affordable vaccines, according to a release issued by the company.

After their meeting, managing director of Biological E, Mahima Datla, said their company was committed to manufacture quality vaccines at prices that make them the most cost-effective investments in global health.

“We are proud to support immunisation needs of the world’s poorest countries and supply life-saving vaccines to underprivileged children in the world”, she said.

Mr. Gates said the foundation was proud to tie up with Biological E because its innovative approaches were saving and improving lives every day. In spite of its remarkable achievements, India was enduring some of the greatest health and development burdens, he felt.
