A speeding motorcycle crashed into an oncoming car, piercing through its windshield and killing an eight-year-old sitting in the front seat next to the driver. The collision took place near Kadthal on Srisailam Highway on Sunday.

According to Kadthal Police, a biker 27-year-old Sai Ram collided into the sedan that was being driven by Jani Bhai near Mucharla junction in Kadhtal mandal at about 9.30 a.m. The collision happened when the biker was trying to overtake a bus and rammed into the ill-fated car approaching from opposite side. A Kadthal Police official G. Srikanth who provided the details also quoted eye-witnesses saying the biker was riding fast with a pillion driver. Up on collision, the biker landed on the car’s top and died from the impact as he was not wearing a helmet.

“The boy was struck by the motorcycle’s wheel on the neck and died instantly. The family in the car was driving from Hyderabad to Kadthal to oversee construction of a mosque,” the police official said adding that a pillion rider on the bike suffered serious head injuries and was hospitalised.
