Ardent Telugu television viewers are in for a treat with two internationally-acclaimed reality shows coming to town with local content. Endemol India is all set to air the Telugu version of ‘Big Boss’ (Big Brother) and ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ (Fear Factor) by the end of this year.
The production house will soon start zeroing in on the contestants. The Big Boss reality show has already been launched for the Kannada and Bengali audiences.
“We will choose contestants from all walks of life. We can also have a mix where one or two contestants may be from outside. We are presently in talks with channels and will soon finalise the contestants.”
Mr. Dhar hinted that the content might be filtered in the local edition so as to make it less controversial, keeping the tastes of local viewers in mind.
He also informed that a movie based on the reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ will be produced and released sometime next year.
Movie releaseTalking about the production house’s first ever movie Anamika , which is a remake of Bollywood hit Kahaani , he said, “I have a special connection with Hyderabad as I hail from this city and always wanted to produce a Telugu film. Getting director Shekar Kammula on board was also another reason why we went ahead with the movie while our second movie in Hindi is still under production.”
Mr. Dhar added that many significant changes have been made to the movie, starring actress Nayantara in the lead, so that the audience who watched the original version are not disappointed. The movie is slated for release next month.
