The five-year-old rape victim from Bidar, who was admitted to Niloufer Hospital for treatment from injuries, is on her way to recovery.

The victim was referred to Niloufer Hospital by the Government Hospital at Bidar and was brought to the State-run children’s hospital by the Bidar police.

The hospital doctors, who took up minor repairs of injuries, said that the girl has responded well to the treatment and her overall health condition has improved. The victim, who was in the hospital ICU for a day, is now convalescing in the surgical ward.

“The girl is recovering well and her health condition has been improving steadily. Our doctors have been observing the patient closely. There is nothing to worry about her health condition,” hospital Superintendent Dr. D. Ranganath said.

Immediately after admission, the Niloufer Hospital doctors successfully repaired injuries sustained by her.

A medico-legal case was also registered at the Nampally police station. “We are yet to take any call on discharging her. We will decide on it only when we receive a complete report from the surgeons,” Dr. Ranganath added.
