Bhagiratha water by Jan. 30, trials to start

Mission Bhagiratha Vice Chairman V. Prashanth Reddy said that they would provide drinking water to all the habitations of the erstwhile Karimnagar district by January 30 under Mission Bhagiratha programme.

Mr. Reddy along with Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageshwara Rao, State Cultural Council chairman Rasamayi Balakishan, CMO secretary Smitha Sabharwal and others inspected the Mission Bhagiratha works on the shores of LMD Reservoir on Saturday evening.

Reviewing the progress of the works with the officials of all Assembly segments, he said that they would conduct trial runs in entire district from January 12 to 25 and ensure that the water was supplied regularly from January 30.

Assuring all assistance for the sanction funds to expedite the works, he directed the authorities to complete the remaining work of pipelines, overhead reservoirs and pump houses, among others on a war-footing. He asked the officials to involve the legislators and elected representatives in the conduct of trial runs. Minister for Finance Eatala Rajender and chief whip Koppula Eshwar also joined the meeting later. RTC Chairman S. Satyanarayan, legislators G. Kamalakar, D. Manohar Reddy, Putta Madhukar, K. Vidyasagar Rao, Siddipet Collector Venkat Ram Reddy, Jagtial Collector A. Sharath and others were also present.
