Begumpet IAF station gets new chief

Air Commodore C.K. Kumar took over as Air Officer Commanding of Air Force Station, Begumpet on Monday. The Air Officer was commissioned into the Indian Air Force in 1987 and had earlier served in an Operational Transport Squadron in the East.

A qualified flying instructor and also a post-graduate from Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, he held several posts like the Flight Commander of the Boeing and Boeing business jet flights of Air Headquarters Communication Squadron, etc., Director Personnel Officers (Transport) at Air Headquarters and also as Command Flying Training Officer at Headquarters Training Command, Indian Air Force.

He was awarded Vayu Sena Medal by the President on 26 January 2012 for his distinguished service. Prior to this appointment, the Air Officer was Commanding Air Force Station Palam, a press release said.
