The city police on Sunday arrested Andhra Bank Vijayawada branch chief manager on charge of sending derogatory emails making false allegations against the top executives of the bank to different bankers to tarnish their image, police said.

The Cyber Crime Police at Central Crime Station (CCS) nabbed S.V.S. Kishore Kumar, Chief Manager of Andhra Bank, Vijayawada branch, following a complaint that he had sent offensive emails making false allegations against the top bank executives.

Kumar allegedly sent emails through the fake email-IDs to officials of different bankers since February last to the Ministry of Finance making baseless allegations that the officials were dismissed from service and hence cheques passed by them should not be honoured, police officials said.
