Banjara Hills car crash: Ramya's grandfather dies

Madhusudhan Chary, the 68-year-old grandfather who was in the horrific car crash that occurred in Banjara Hills on July 1 with his granddaughter Ramya and other family members, succumbed to his injuries early on Monday.

Mr. Chary, with two others, was in the back seat of the family’s Santro when an oncoming car landed collided into them after toppling from the other side of the divider. Driven by a 20-year-old Shravil, allegedly drunk and did not possess a driving license, the car killed Ramya’s uncle Ramesh who was in the driver’s seat. Ramya while her mother Radhika and grandfather Mr. Chary who were seated in the back received grievous injuries. Ramya died last week after battling for life on ventilator for 10 days.

A spokesperson for the private hospital where Mr. Chary was admitted, informed he had suffered injuries to his spine, lungs and face that resulted in death.
