May 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:54 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Responding to the Expression of Interest notification by Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) about overseas acquisition and management of coal mines, a delegation from Australia led by the country’s consulate general to South India Sean Kelly met the CMD of SCCL N. Sridhar here on Friday.

The three-member team discussed the quantity and quality of coal to be produced, and the technical expertise of SCCL in acquiring and managing mines in Australia, a press release said.

It was decided that another team would visit the company in June or July and give a report on the training needs and other support.

Australian Trade Commissioner Tom Calder and Government Relations and Research Manager Shwetha Venkatram and GM, Business Development and Coordination Ch. Narsimha Rao were part of the deliberations.
