Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials of Krishna district trapped Assistant Statistical Officer (ASO) Dayanand, at Nuzvid Tehsildar’s office, while he was allegedly accepting Rs.4,000 as bribe at his office on Monday.
Based on the complaint lodged by D. Rammohan Rao, the team led by ACB Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) V. Gopala Krishna raided on tehsildar’s office and caught the ASO while taking the amount.
“The accused officer demanded Mr. Rao the bribe for issuing birth certificate to his son D. Vamshi Krishna. Unable to bear the torture, he approached the ACB,” said the DSP.
ACB CIs Srinivas, Nagaraju and Venkateswarlu took the accused into custody and seized the amount. The ASO would be produced in the ACB Court, Mr. Gopala Krishna added.
