MIM chief says not a single minority vote would go to Congress in 2014 polls. The Majlis-e-Ittehadul-Muslimeen (MIM) cannot be cowed down by arrests and judicial remand and is prepared to take the battle to its logical end
The Majlis-e-Ittehadul-Muslimeen (MIM) cannot be cowed down by arrests and judicial remand and is prepared to take the battle to its logical end, asserted the Majlis president, Asaduddin Owaisi.
“I am ready to fight whichever way the government chooses to — democratically or otherwise,” he thundered. Mr. Asaduddin was addressing a large congregation at the ‘Milad-un-Nabi’ programme organised at Darussalam here in the late hours of Thursday. Mr. Asaduddin, who spoke well past midnight, threw an open challenge to the Chief Minister, N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, to book cases against his party leaders. “Let us see who will beat a retreat. Not a single vote of the 80 lakh strong minorities will go to the Congress this time,” he asserted.
Earlier, Mr. Asaduddin was given a tumultuous welcome when he arrived at the venue. The gathering broke the cordon and surged forward to catch a glimpse of ‘Asad bhai’ who had to repeatedly urge them to resume their seats. “I am not a film star that you want to see me. Just listen to me and act when the time comes,” he said.
Lambasts Congress
Holding the Congress government responsible for the present troubles of Majlis, Mr. Asaduddin said if the Chief Minister had any political wisdom, he would have confined the issue just to the State. “Magar woh Akbar ka baja itna bajaya ke woh hero ho gaye,” (But he played up Akbaruddin’s speech so much that he has now become an all-India figure.)
As the crowd went into raptures, he asked the people to show their enthusiasm on the day of polling. “Shed despair and disappointment. Don’t you know God has purchased the lives of the faithful in lieu of ‘Jannat’ (paradise)?” he said referring to a Quranic verse.
CM’s self-goal
The communal stand of the Congress has got exposed after his arrest, Mr. Asaduddin said. The Chief Minister wanted to pin down the Majlis and the United Muslim Front but he ended up ‘making a self-goal,’ he remarked. “In 2014 elections, Mr. Kiran Kumar will definitely lose, but I will come back and so would all my seven MLAs,” he declared.
Mr. Asaduddin clarified that the Majlis was not against Hindus or Hinduism but was against Hindutva forces – the Sangh Parivar, VHP and BJP. He defended his party MLA Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri’s controversial speech. He said the latter had not insulted Mahatma Gandhi. The Majlis has the highest regard for the Mahatma, he said and added that Majlis need not learn respect for the Mahatma from ‘his killers.’
Salutes Ambedkar
But he considered Ambedkar a bigger leader than Mahatma Gandhi. “For me, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Chandrasekhar Azad were bigger leaders than Gandhi. In my view, the biggest political leaders of Independent India were Abdul Wahid Owaisi and Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi,” the Majlis leader remarked referring to his late grandfather and father.
The Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde was being targeted for his statement that RSS and BJP were running terror camps as he was a Dalit leader, Mr. Asaduddin said and asked Mr. Shinde to order a fresh probe into all the bomb blasts that took place in the country after demolition of Babri Masjid in 1992.
Mr. Asaduddin also spoke of halting Congress march to Parliament in 2014. The Majlis would also ensure that the Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi’s wish of becoming Prime Minister remains a pipe dream.
Police flayed
Taking pot-shots at police, he dared them to record his speech and post it on YouTube. In a choked voice, Mr. Asaduddin said he was saddened by the absence of his brother Mr. Akbaruddin. “History shows that it is the righteous that always emerge victorious,” he said. Mr. Akbaruddin, he said, was always a ‘mujahid’ (crusader) and he would remain so.
He condemned the serious charge of sedition levelled against his brother and wondered why Hindu religious leader Swami Kamalananda’s bail was not opposed. He questioned the police why they have not taken action against Congress leaders against whom non-bailable warrants were pending.

@arun subbu.Dont be a hypocrite.Appeasement to Maoists,Telangana separatists,Gurkhaland protestors,LTTE,Gujjars and Sikhs, seems to brought peace and prosperity in India. Thanks God they are not Muslim minorities.
When politicians like Raj Thackeray, Modi, Togadia and Kamalananda spoke against the minorities, it seems you were dumb and deaf. Height of fanaticism to start with the last point: ideologically, Nathuram Godse had remained an RSS man, singing an RSS hymn to Mother India on his way to the gallows. Will you come out to condemn RSS or Godse in this regard? I dare you will never.
It makes me sad when I compare the issues on which the elections are
fought in India and in the USA. Never in India is Economy, Environment
or Infrastructure a poll issue. Elections have always been fought on
religion caste lines. I read that when British came into India, they
were awed by our civilization from what they had heard. But once they
saw it closely, British administrators and Scholars termed Indians as
'degenerate', not capable of governing themselves. What a pity that
after to Akbar's speech and reading this article I felt the British
were indeed right.
Yasser, why don't you practise what you are preaching...no one forced you to read and preach to Abhishek.
All of us should understand that an Indian Lok Sabha MP does not represent people belonging to just one religion.
I agree that Congress is communal - it always took the support of MIM which is a communal party. They want to enjoy the privileges gauranteed by the Indian Constitution and law but do not respect it. What use is it if Asad studied law.
MIM BELIEVES that they can use street power to get things done. Akbar's and Asad's rabid behaviour has to STOP. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Hyderabad is not their fiefdom, probably old city is and that is why old city is not developed nor are the people dwelling there and no wonder why these 2 fellows prefer to live in posh areas of the new city.
People should not forget that they get the leaders they deserve.
another man using religion to show his support base to protect himself and his
family members. A show of strength in organizing these useless rallies. How are the
people benefitting from these rallies and voting based on what this guy wants. The
only person who is benefitting is this man and his family
It seems that he likes Ambedkar. Does he know that he once said, 'It is wrong for the majority to deny the existence of minorities. It is equally wrong for minorities to perpetuate themselves.'
His type of minority not only provokes the majority, it does a bad advocacy to secualrism itself. Sooner he is sent to jail (along with other Hindu fundamentalists) to kool his heels is better!
The open challenge thrown by Mr. Owaisi, has to be taken positively by
congress and fight in democratic way as Mr. Owaisi suggested. It is
always proved that congress try to put down the voice raised against
them by using their Power. But this time it will be very costly for
them. They will not come back to power and lose their credibility to a
large extent which will not allow them to come back to power may be for
at least 2 elections. You will see that YSRCP will get Power and there
will good support to them by MIM
Mr. Owaisi has a valid point in questioning the bail granted to Mr. Kamalnanda. If the younger Mr. Owaisi can be held judicially for a hate speech, then why should Mr. Kamalnanda get a different treatment for a similar violation. This is clearly unfair and reeks of partisan politics practised by the ruling party. What is worse is that it portrays the law and its systems of application to be a whim which can be exercised for politically expedient choices and not a truthful obligation which must be upheld irrespective of extraneous reasons.
On a different note, the elder Mr. Owaisi should acknowledge that his younger sibling's speech was particularly rabid in its tone and this was completely wrong. If he would do so, it will not only show the strength and humility of his character but it would also go a long way in demonstrating that the MIM and its followers put the interests of the nation first and that they do not see themselves as being a different people.
It’s unfortunate that the present govt is targeting the minorities’ leader and it’s open to everyone to understand it. Well Yes I feel MIM is the party at large representing minorities in AP & slowly spreading to neighbouring states. People love them not because they are from particular religion, but for the work they have done for minorities & SC/STs at large. I am one of the beneficial of their work.
Most of our brothers feel that they are communal, my question to them how about bjp ? Is it secular? How about other parties are they secular? The incident take place in sangareddy the leader is from ruling part & the allegations was raised against them are they secular ?
Well I strongly support what Mr Asad Owaisi has said. And surely we and my cast are going to support MIM in upcoming party.
but brother abhishek, what did Asad bhai said? What is wrong in
that sayings? He is Politician. Like all other politicians. And
According to me from OLD City he helped us many times. Not a single
politician came forword for us. AND KIRAN KUMAR REDDY IS COMMUNAL
MINDED.
Is Asaduddin a "SOLE AGENT" of the minorities in Andhra Pradesh? Kiran Kumar Reddy government is dealing nicely with the MIM leadership.
He says no muslim vote will go to congress in 2014.He asks to conduct inquiry into all bombings post babri masjid. So for him all these bombs are assumed to be planted by saffron terrorists
I agree and fully support the views of Mr. Abhishek, he is absolutely right. Who is Asaduddin to say that the Congress will not get a single minority vote, his statement is senseless. He and his brother are playing dirty politics. Minority community has understood their game plan and are well aware of their intentions, they cannot fool Muslims in the name of religion any more. Congress will definitely get Muslim votes I believe.
Our nation deserves this - blind minority appeasement has led to mayhem.
See Brother Abhishek. You have not voted him to become an M.P.Due to the socio-networking sites it has become a fashion to everyone to comment whatever rubbish they want.If you have some problem with the M.I.M party then you have right to vote,u vote against them. The Muslim's of Hyderabad have voted him and made him the Member of Parliament. So who are you to decide what he should speak and what he should not.If he is communal watch out for the next election results of 2014 you will know who is communal. He is the voice of the Hyderabad Muslim's.If you don't like him don't listen to him.He is not begging you personally to vote him or follow him or listen to his speech's.
"threw an open challenge to the Chief Minister, N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, to book cases against his party leaders"
Law and order requires to be maintained despite threats from anyone.
Mr Asaduddin-owaisi I presume you haven't heard your brother speech properly. He has spit venom on Hinduism and Hindu gods.
Nicely said..."Majlis was not against Hindus or Hinduism but was against Hindutva forces – the Sangh Parivar, VHP and BJP"
Though he is wearing a Topi and a muslim leader, he dares to talk about the truth.
India needs another leader like Patel to remind him what happened on half century ago.....
MY Friend He is not Speaking Against the Nation or Hindu Brothers. He is
Speaking Against the Sangh Parivar who are dividing the country in the
Name of Hindutva,,
I really don't understand why Asad speech was so highlighted in the media and on the Internet. Same never happened when people in the past did the same act.
Can I say that since Muslims are minority so they have to pay or bear this injustice ??
If anybody wants to set an example by punishing then why its starting with minority community ?? Only because they are less in numbers and don't have power ??
how mean asad is he dint mention that he owes apology for his brothers speech......he has clear mindset what his younger brother has communal person
Kiran reddy acted boldly and clamped down these communal elements. The
situation was maturely handled. Congress govt provided 4% reservations,
post minority scholarships to Muslims and Yet communal elements accuse
it of communalism. What more depressing is such auspicious occasions are
used to divide the society. Kiran reddy will be a winner even if he
looses and communal elements will be loosers even if they win.
MIM is welcome to wage a war against Sri Kiran Kumar Reddy, the present
Chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. The leaders of MIM can't indulge in
any Ransom tactics, which they have indulged so far.The MIM are not only
messiahs of Muslims. In their name, the MIM is indulging in divisional
politics based on communal basis.Every citizen of Andhra Pradesh, is
appreciating the efforts of the chief minister for his bold initiatives
in every front.Let us all wish ,Sri Kiran Kumar Reddy , success in all
his future endeavors.
I do not know what this guy is upto. He ,himself, is not realizing what
he is talking about. India is not just a nation but a cloth woven by
feelings of brotherhood and love. Words like his, will only tarnish its
luster. I would suggest him to reconsider his words and views and speak
and work for the betterment of our nation rather than spreading hatred
among Indian brothers.
Another senseless speech and highly politically motivate . He is talking like a contractor of vote bank of particular community . People must be think about country first than rest things follow . It's time to break a circle of community based politics .
After reading this, I feel like voting for congress :-). I hate congress
but would still vote just to keep this idiot quiet.
The judge who granted bail should be regretting his decision by now.
