Artistes and technicians of three different TV serials staged a demonstration before Narsingi police station on Monday alleging that the police had disrupted their shooting.
The police, however, maintained that they acted on a complaint from the public stating that shoots of the three crews created nuisance in Secretariat Colony of Puppalaguda. “Moreover, none of them had secured permission from police to carry out the shooting at a public place,” Rajendranagar ACP, A. Mutyam Reddy, said.
On receiving complaints that the TV serial teams were creating nuisance by parking vehicles on roadside and power generators with heavy noise, the Narsingi Sub-Inspector P. Anjaiah went to Secretariat Colony. On enquiry, he found they didn’t obtain permission from the police.
As the SI took away a camera of one of the teams, the latter rushed to the police station and squatted before the building. The agitation was called off after the police higher-ups explained to them that the film or serial shooting at public place required permission.

These TV serials are a nuisance in their content and while shooting.
Wish they ban these serials completely.
Finally some action against this nuisance called TV serial shooting.
We had a tough time evicting them from our colony with constant
complaints about parking, noisy generators, too many people and bad
behaviour - most importantly, staff change everyday and really
difficult to figure out who created nuisance last time around.
Permissions are required for shooting TV/Film on commercial basis when
done in residential colonies as stated in the website of AP Film
Chambers of Commerce and also nod from Police Commissioners' office
but they never bothered to secure them and bribe their way for taking
up TV}Film shootings in residential colonies.
Initially lured by rents from TV serial production houses, people
rented their their houses for shoots but once the nuisance value
increased, asked them to vacate and lot of pressure & influence used.
Hopefully, Narsingi PS will ensure they don't resume shooting again.
