In its attempt to curb the menace of inappropriate diagnosis, irregular and incomplete treatment of Tuberculosis (TB), the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has now made it mandatory for all private hospitals in the State to notify TB cases being treated by them to the district TB health officials.
The move is also aimed at combating the emergence of Drug Resistant TB in the Country.
Format of notification
“The health care providers should notify every TB case to local district health authorities every month in a given format,” the notification said.
The format in which the TB cases have to be reported by private hospitals will be available with the local TB officials, State TB Officer M. S. Srinivas Rao said in a press release added.
